It became a musical masterpiece in Jazz . Two great mind’s a congadrum player Named Chano Pozo , Trumpet player named Dizzy Gillespie who socially has not forgotten . Today we have Dizzy’s club . On the Westside .

Doesn’t even sound like a flugelhorn. Sounds like a mellow trumpet. He would have the same sound if he would have played a martin committee with a Heim mouthpiece like miles.

Pay attention to the piano solo from minute 6, Rob Madna, probably the most underrated European jazz musician, no worn-out clichés, instead super-tasteful timing and phrasing beyond compare

Some jazz musicians you have to listen to for a while before you start to get it, some, well, you never do get. Sonny, you only have to hear one time. Then you want to hear everything the man ever recorded. I so envy those of you who saw him live.

I discovered Don Goldie on a Jack Teagarden album, and I was honestly surprised by his way of playing. Its sound is really amazing.

A star of the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival (her flamboyant, show-stopping performance of "Tea for Two" and "Sweet Georgia Brown" was captured on the Bert Stern documentary, Jazz on a Summer's Day),

Ned from Spain and a big fan of all of these giants. As a drummer myself I could listen to Philly Joe all day long. His rhythms and orchestration of the drums is phenomenal. Thanks so much for the post.

For me, this is a great rainy day album.

Geweldig - toch had Peter absoluut geen "Bühne".

I love Dorham, but I'd love it even more if this album had one of Cecil's preferred trumpet players who were more open to the avant guard. Israels and Hayes hold it down, but Dorham's playing seems a bit off for where the music wants to go. In fact, no trumpet at all would be nice to give Trane and Taylor more room to explore and interplay.

Obviously an attempt to duplicate his success with Body and Soul but this time he gets composers royaltites. What a hack job.

Great drummer but you should never stop the band, especially on television. You’re a team, you keep playing…if the first few seconds in there a mistake you can start again but you don’t let the audience know who’s fault it was.
